Basement: The basement of Jefferson contains a tiered classroom and storage for the Library’s legacy collection of 19th century journals, some of which were purchased by Colonel Thayer during his trip to Europe 1815-1817 during which he purchased the books and journals for the fledgling US Military Academy Library. Mechanical space occupies the balance of the room in the basement. |
 |
First Floor: The main entry will be on the south side of the building facing what is now the “gun door” of building 757 (the present library).
