Special Handling Requirements
Due to the rarity, fragility and historical importance of these collections, they do not circulate. Special handling rules must also be imposed to protect these important resources. Please familiarize yourself with these requirements prior to your visit. View the Reading Room Rules and Regulations.

Online Catalog
It is important to note that all Special Collections and Archives materials are not represented in the Library's online catalog. Nevertheless, searching the catalog is the logical first step in any research project. When searching the catalog, you may use "limit" commands to restrict system response to items within the Special Collections.

National Archives RG 404
A current overview of USMA Archives resources is available through the Record Group 404 section of the online National Archives Guide. A published inventory of Record Group 404, Preliminary Inventory of the Records of the United States Military Academy (Washington, DC: National Archives, 1976) is also available, but is in the process of being revised to reflect records acquired since 1976.
